INDOOR BOULDERING FAQs

Indoor bouldering is a form of rock climbing that takes place on artificial walls without the use of ropes or harnesses.

You don’t need any experience to try bouldering and one of our friendly staff will be happy to give you an induction.

No, indoor bouldering is suitable for people of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced climbers.

You can bring your own equipment, if you have it, but we provide all the necessary equipment, such as climbing shoes and chalk.

We offer an induction before you climb the first time to teach you the basics of bouldering. Individual and group lessons can also be booked.

1 adult can supervise two novice climbers after completing the necessary waivers

Indoor bouldering is considered safe when proper techniques and safety protocols are followed, and equipment is well-maintained. This is all covered during the registration process for the centre, where a short video explains everything you need to know.

We have a colour-coded system to indicate the difficulty level of routes on the chalkboard by the entrance to the bouldering.

Comfortable, athletic clothing that allows for a full range of motion is best for indoor bouldering. Avoid baggy or loose clothing that can get caught on holds or equipment. We also ask that you remove any jewellery, especially rings, before you climb.

There is no minimum age to climb, but it’s recommended for around age 5+ depending on individual abilities. Any children under 18 require an adult (18+) to supervise them, and one adult can supervise up to two children. In the interest of safety, any child must have their supervising adult with them at all times while using the centre.

You will need to complete a waiver and then a proficiency briefing before you can climb

We currently have 4 kids clubs on at the weekends, ask at reception for more details
